One Direction – Best Song Ever
Long shot of “HOLLYWOOD” sign on hill as voiceover of two
executive men gossiping in an office. We would be able to do voiceovers if we
wanted to/ if it would work.
Cut to their office so we have a long shot of them speaking,
this merges the two shots together nicely.
Not a conventional music video as the song doesn’t actually
start playing until approximately 3 minutes into the video.
Short ASL cut to close up of the two then of each of them as
they speak.
Shot of buzzer as if buzzes then cut to the door opening and
Veronica walks in.
Long shot of woman at door as she speaks then cuts to the
man again as he speaks. (Shot reverse shot)
High angle wide shot of the office as the band walk in and
sit down.
We could do this by standing on a chair however this would not be as
steady as a crane but this would not be possible for us to do.
POV shot of band walking in. we can now see the setting more
clearly – posters of movies and Hollywood sign on the walls along with
expensive looking furniture. We could use wide shots like this to show our
setting.
Camera tracks Veronica bending down as the businessman is
talking.
One shot where Zayn is in it as two different characters.
This would have been done by shooting the two separately then overlaying them
in editing. I don’t think we would be able to do this and it probably wouldn’t
fit well with our song.
Then there is
a low angle shot of he whole band jumping around and singing into the camera.
This is a conventional thing to use in the pop genre of music videos.
There is then a shot of Niall putting a disc into a dvd
player where we see clips of the film in which this music video was released to
promote.
They use over and under cranking in one shot to make the
rhythm of their running fit the beat of the song. I think we could do this but
I would have to discuss with my group whether or not it would work effectively.
There is a high angle shot when the beat slows down of Louis
singing into the camera as the paper is falling around him. We could easily do
this by standing on a chair with other people throwing paper over the singer.
There is shots of the band doing comedy dance moves while singing
“we danced all night” which supports Goodwins theory of the lyrics and visuals
having a relationship.
